Pregnancy Support Counselling
Many women often find themselves requiring counselling and support during the course of pregnancy or within 12 months of pregnancy. Some of the issues that may arise include;
- decision making related to the pregnancy
- managing unexpected outcomes (e.g stillbirth, miscarriage, problems at birth)
- dealing with mixed feelings during or post pregnancy
- conflict with relationships due to the pregnancy (e.g partner, children, parents, religious)
Your GP can assess whether you qualify for this type of service and will prepare a referral to a Psychologist, who has been specifically trained. Under the Medicare scheme you are eligible to receive 3 sessions which you can claim a rebate of $62.20 per session.
