Fees and Rebates

 

Medicare

To access psychological services you are not required to have a referral, unless you would like to access a government rebate from Medicare. The requirements under Medicare are that you or your child, are assessed by a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician who will determine if you meet the eligibility guidelines for a Mental Health Care Plan. Your specialist will prepare a referral to a psychologist which will enable you to access psychological support and claim the Medicare rebate for ten sessions per calendar year. Under the Medicare Benefits Scheme you will receive up to $93.35 for each session you access with your psychologist. (max. 10)

 

Private Health Insurance

To claim under your Private Health Insurance you do not require a referral to see a psychologist. To determine your level of rebate you will need to refer to your insurer who will be able to provide your entitlement, which will depend on your level of cover.

 

Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

mbmpsychology is registered and approved as an EAP provider. As an employee of your place of employment, you may be entitled to free counselling services. Please make an enquiry and we will be happy to help. 

 

Payments 

Payments are requested at the time of your appointment. Acceptable forms of payments are cash, eftpos or credit card.

 

Cancellation Policy

Once you have scheduled an appointment you will receive an SMS reminder notifying you of your upcoming session. If you are unable to attend please contact as soon as possible to avoid a cancellation fee.
